BCLC is a family-friendly casino and the largest gaming organization in BC. The company has been offering quality entertainment to players since 1995, with over 1 million visitors per year. In 2018, BCLC brings its Love Local campaign back for another round of fundraising through various promotions from March 31st until June 30th.
The “bclc where does the money go” is a charity event that was organized by BCLC. The event will be held on June 9th, 2018.
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation will be giving back to the local communities once again in the spirit of the forthcoming winter holidays. The Crown agency announced on November 29, 2021, that it would organize an online fundraiser called Love Local BC, which will benefit Food Banks BC and other local groups.
The commencement of the Crown’s fundraising campaign comes at a critical moment for many local communities still reeling from the province’s recent floods. The online charity event, according to the BCLC, will run from November 29 to December 10, 2021, and the value of products bought via its Love Local BC website will be donated to one of 11 food bank organizations.
Returning the Favor
Peter ter Weeme, the corporation’s Chief Social Purpose Office and Vice President of Player Experience, stated that the fundraising is another method for the firm to contribute to the greater good. He also said that the company is happy to be assisting local communities, non-profits, and companies via its most recent online campaign, which comes at a critical time.
The BCLC has bought a variety of things and gift cards from local companies in order to generate revenue for the community, and it is now selling them on its Love Local BC website. Once one of the goods is bought or successfully bid on in the silent auction, the proceeds will be donated to a local food bank. As a result, crucial help is provided.
Food Banks BC supports over 102 member food banks in the province by providing them with finances, food, and other services in order to fulfill the needs of the province’s most vulnerable inhabitants, according to Dan Huang-Taylor, Executive Director. He also said that such Crown fundraisers are critical for the organization’s ability to help the other food banks.
Everyone who has bought a gift card or bid on a silent auction item will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize of a Parq Vancouver experience valued up to CA$5,500, according to the BCLC. The package includes a one-night stay in a luxury suite supplied by the hotel. From November 29 to December 10, the Crown has teamed with six casinos to organize onsite food drives.
According to a recent research by Thompson Rivers University, the BCLC has contributed approximately CA$2.2 billion to the economic and social growth of the Kamloops area over the years. The study also discovered that during the course of its 34-year existence, it had spent CA$232 on local products and services, benefitting local companies and organizations.
2020-21 fiscal year
The Crown released its Annual Service Report at the end of August, which contains its fiscal performance for 2020-2021 as well as highlights from the year. The organization generated a record-breaking amount of income from lottery and iGaming operations this fiscal year. Furthermore, the BCLC has generated approximately CA$419 million in net income for the province, a considerable contribution to the local economy.
