The Global Poker Awards (GPA), the first and only awards show of its kind in the world to recognize achievement in poker, will be taking place on February 16th. Now is your chance to vote for this year’s recipients before anyone is announced as a winner. Voting ends January 20th!

Global Poker Awards Announced for February; Fan Voting Starts Soon

On February 18, the Global Poker Index (GPI) and The Hendon Mob (THM), in collaboration with PokerGO, announced the return of the Global Poker Awards. The yearly awards recognize the greatest poker players, tours, and other industry professionals.

This will be the first time the accolades have been handed since March 2020, due to the epidemic. The 2021 ceremony will be broadcast live from Aria Resort’s PokerGO Studio.

GPI/THM President Eric Danis remarked, “We’re extremely thrilled to have the chance to present the Global Poker Awards with our colleagues at PokerGO for the first time in over two years.” “We’ve been waiting for the awards ceremony to return with bated breath. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have planned for February 18.”

  • Player of the Year at GPI
  • Toughest Opponent: Player’s Choice
  • Icon of Poker
  • Vlogger of the Year

Fans may also participate by voting for one of three Fans Choice awards. Danis has also promised some fresh elements to the presentation.

“For the awards ceremony, we have a few unique moments planned,” he explains. “We can’t discuss anything just now, but there will undoubtedly be a few emotional moments in this year’s ceremony that will leave few viewers with dry tears.”

Voting will begin shortly.

In the next weeks, the GPI will provide further details regarding the awards and the Fans Choice vote. Early in 2022, the voting process is likely to commence.

Alex Foxen was named Player of the Year in 2020, while his fiancée Kristen Bicknell was named Female Player of the Year. Breakout Player of the Year was awarded to Robert Campbell.

Toughest Opponent was awarded to Stephen Chidwick. The Icon Award went to Johnny Chan, while Broadcaster of the Year went to Nick Schulman.

In the near future, further information about the awards will be accessible.

“It’s a celebration for everyone of poker,” Danis added, “and we hope everyone tuned in to see the Global Poker Awards.”
