Poker revenue has been steadily rising since the US economy was put in an emergency situation. November saw a drop for online poker, but it’s still on track to break record-breaking numbers this year.

The “online poker market share” is a measure of the total revenue generated by online poker sites. It has seen a small dip in November, but it has stayed consistent.

In legal, regulated jurisdictions, online poker income continues to grow month after month. Overall, there were slight dips in regulated states in November, but overall, online poker is still at historically high levels.

Overall, online gaming continues to reach new milestones, with month-over-month growth accelerating. Each month, significant tournament series are widely promoted by online poker providers such as partypoker US Network, PokerStars, and WSOP.com. 

The following states have authorized online poker:

  • Pennsylvania
  • Michigan
  • Nevada
  • Delaware

The number of people playing online poker in New Jersey has decreased somewhat.

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, internet poker operators in the Garden State reached the $2 million milestone once again in November (NJDGE). That’s a big figure, but it’s down from November’s $2.2 million.

This was a decrease from the $2.4 million that had been reported in October. In the state, there are presently three online poker operators:

After two months as the leading poker site in New Jersey, partypoker lost the top place to WSOP.com in November. The monthly Online Circuit ring series is being conducted by WSOP, which has a bankroll of $854,361.

With Nevada and 888poker in Delaware, WSOP.com is the only provider providing shared liquidity.

Partypoker finished second with $734,749 in revenue. This was a significant decrease from October’s $933,471 and September’s $1 million.

The firm has now introduced the Cheap Stakes Series, a new monthly series aimed towards low-limit grinders. With $607,415 in revenue, PokerStars saw a 2.5 percent dip month over month.

Year over year, internet gaming in New Jersey is increasing.

The Garden State saw record numbers in November. Overall, $118 million was spent on online gaming, up 28.5 percent from $91.8 million a year before.

The Borgata/BetMGM brand continues to reign supreme, with the operator holding the top place for nine months in a row.

After a record-breaking month in October, BetMGM’s revenue in November fell to $33.7 million. With $31.7 million, Golden Nugget came in second, followed by Resorts with $27.8 million.

The state of New Jersey collected $46.5 million in gaming taxes. Gaming taxes account for 8% of taxable casino gross income and 15% of gross revenue from online gaming.

Online poker in Pennsylvania is down a little, but it’s still the best in the country.

In November, online poker revenue in Pennsylvania fell marginally. Pennsylvania reported $2.8 million in November, compared to $2.9 million in October. 

There are several poker promotions in the Commonwealth, and it is the largest licensed online poker state. In Pennsylvania, there are now three online poker options:

  • PokerStars 
  • Borgata Poker and BetMGM skins are part of the partypoker US Network.
  • WSOP.com

PokerStars is still a force to be reckoned with, having won $1.8 million in November. To assist increase traffic, the site is presently conducting a 25 Days of Christmas offer.

In November, WSOP.com reported a revenue increase of $648,623. Currently, the corporation is launching campaigns to assist players win a trip to the Super Bowl. 

In November, BetMGM/Borgata Poker finished in third with $317,877 in revenue. The two skins are part of the partypoker US Network and host monthly Online Series tournaments. 

In Pennsylvania, online gambling is rising 57 percent year over year. In November, the state reported gross income of $93.8 million. 

Total gaming income for November was $432.4 million, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. This is a new high for the state, with a 52 percent rise over the previous year. 

The Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board reported that November taxes from Internet gaming activity totaled $39,114. 

In Pennsylvania, there are live poker rooms.

Another month, another Michigan record.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the Wolverine State set yet another online gaming record in November (MGCB). The state’s economy grew by 20.7 percent month over month.

Michigan’s total online gambling income was $161.7 million. This was a significant increase above the previous high of $109.7 million achieved last month.

In the state’s revenue report, Michigan mixes poker and internet gambling. There are two online poker sites to choose from:

  • PokerStars
  • BetMGM is a casino that accepts bets (part of the partypoker US Network)

On the casino side of things, both BetMGM and FanDuel witnessed slight drops. With $40.1 million in total online gambling revenue, BetMGM dominated the state. In November, FanDuel reported $16.7 million in revenue, a little decrease from the previous month’s $16.7 million.

Internet sports betting income than quadrupled from the previous month, reaching $54.1 million, a new high. When Michigan generated $463.3 million, it set a new record for handling. Handle was up 2.3 percent in November compared to October.

The state received $21.4 million in tax income from online gambling firms, which included:

  • Taxes and payments on internet gaming – $19.8 million
  • Taxes and payments on internet sports betting – $1.6 million

At the time, six live poker venues in Michigan have reopened, including:

  • MGM Grand Detroit is a casino in Detroit, Michigan.
  • Hotel Motor City Casino 
  • Hotel-Casino in Greektown
  • Petoskey’s Odawa Casino 
  • Hotel Firekeepers Casino
  • Island Resort & Casino is a casino and resort located in the Bahamas.

To entice poker players back to the tables, Michigan casinos are giving a variety of rewards.

Delaware poker is steadily expanding, and iGaming is on the rise.

The First State has seen an upsurge in online poker for the second month in a row. The state recorded $33,361 in total online poker income in November.

iGaming had its greatest month of the year, according to the Delaware Lottery, with $996,639. In November, Delaware recorded 772 new player registrations.

In cooperation with Delaware’s racetrack casinos, 888poker runs three distinct skins in Delaware, including:

  • Delaware Park is a park in Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Dover Downs is a racetrack in Dover, Delaware.
  • Harrington Raceway and Casino

Two of the three sites saw monthly growth of less than 1%. Delaware Park has been the state’s #1 internet destination month after month in 2021.

Delaware Park, which is also the state’s only live poker parlor, pulled in $20,328. Labor shortages continue to plague casinos in the Northeast. The tri-state area has started publicizing job openings on a monthly basis.
