The World Poker Tour has announced the start of its twenty-first season, which will begin in January. The $3,500 Lucky Hearts Poker Open, which runs from January 13 to 26 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, starts off the historic Season XX.
The tournament includes a $2 million guarantee and is the Lucky Hearts’ eighth appearance on the WPT Main Tour. The tournament in 2021 drew 1,573 entrants and marked the tour’s return to live poker.
Ilyas Muradi took home $620,000 and his name was added on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup. WPT President and CEO Adam Pliska stated the corporation has some unique plans for 2022, as the new season begins.
Pliska stated in a statement, “Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood has been a terrific partner for the World Poker Tour, and opening our 20th season in Florida is a fantastic option.” “We also can’t wait to share some of the unique initiatives we have planned for our 20th anniversary with the poker industry, including an updated approach to one of the WPT’s most cherished tournaments.”

In 2022, what can we expect?
When Season XX begins, all final tables will be televised live on the WPT social media platforms. The Lucky Hearts final table is scheduled for Jan. 26. The inaugural tour stop contains 31 events with a total prize pool of more than $5 million.
Other dates for the tour are yet to be announced. A peek at the timetable for 2021, on the other hand, may provide some insight into what to anticipate. The Seminole Hard Rock facilities in Florida, as well as the following properties, held events:

- Sochi Casino (Russia)

The Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open has come to an end in Florida.
The Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open, which took place at the Seminole, before the start of the new season. Gediminas Uselis won the biggest WPT Rock ‘N’ Roll field ever with 1,566 entrants. The Lithuanian player won $778,490 in first-place prize money.
In April, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown attracted a record-breaking 2,482 players. The five biggest live fields in WPT history have all come from the Hollywood venue.
“Our crew is always working to provide a world-class experience for poker players, and we feel the results speak for themselves,” stated event director Jason Heidenthal. “We’re excited to be a part of the World Poker Tour’s 20th anniversary celebrations and to help get things off in January with the Lucky Hearts Poker Open.”

The first tournament in the series attracted 6,196 players, shattering the previous record for the biggest field in Florida poker history. The tournament’s $1 million guarantee was also more than quadrupled.
